Club Meetings: Tuesdays, during advisory; after school as needed
Student Government will meet every Tuesday during Advisory in the library. Student Government Representatives are required to attend all meetings. When we are planning an event (like a rally or the talent show) additional time during the day or after school may be needed.
Participating in student government is a commitment of your time, and you should only consider Student Government if you want to:
- Work with other students.
- Develop personal leadership skills.
- Plan school events.
- Promote school spirit.
- Conduct service projects.
- Communicate all upcoming fundraisers and events to your peers.

Club requirements for membership:
- Students will be role models by displaying exemplary behavior both on and off campus at school events. Previous or new referrals will NOT be tolerated. Referrals will be cause for removal from office.
- Students will not have any D’s or F’s at any time. Grade checks will be conducted. If the student’s grade falls below expectations, he/she will be suspended from student government until grades are acceptable.
- Students will attend and actively participate in all meetings and events. More than three unexcused absences (illness or school activity) will be cause for removal from office.

Step 1: Complete the application forSGA
Step 2: Submit a campaign video that is no more than 90 seconds to the appropriate folder in Student Commons by September 5th. These videos will be shown in Advisory on September 10th.
- Grade 8 students may run for President and Vice-President.
- President and Vice-President work together to plan meetings, school events (like rallies), and prioritize recommendations from the new Student Voice Committee
- Grade 7 students may run for Secretary and Communications Director.
- Secretary is responsible for taking and posting meeting minutes in our collaboration space.
- Communication Director is responsible for writing morning and afternoon announcements, coordinating with the yearbook, and leading the script writing for Mustang Mornings appearances.
- Grade 6 students may run for Member-at-Large (2 students will be selected).
- Members-at-Large contribute ideas and feedback from the student body and ensure that the perspectives of our newest students are represented.
Step 3: Notify your two (2) RRMS faculty references that I will be contacting them about your behavior, academics, and leadership qualities.
