Student Devices

All students have been issued a laptop, charger, and carrying case for their 1:1 devices. Please review the PWCS Parent/Student Digital Device Handbook at the link below. This handbook contains information on care and use that should be reviewed by both the parent and student. Please be aware that students will be required to pay for a replacement if their device is lost, broken, or stolen.

Q: A student of mine forgot to bring his device/charger to school. What should they do?

A: If it is early in the day, we will encourage them to call home for a parent to drop off the device. If a student needs a charger, allow them to borrow one from a classmate. Provide a paper copy of work if possible.

Q: A student of mine needs to replace a lost/damaged power cord or headphones. How can we do this?

A: They can buy one through the school for $60+ or through Amazon. HP Replacement Cords are here. Lenovo replacement cords are here. Replacement headphones are here.

Parents/guardians have the option to purchase low-cost student device insurance through the PWCS-approved third-party vendor, Securranty.

If purchased, the insurance covers unlimited repairs or replacements for everything from broken screens, lost chargers, and accidental damage, with a zero deductible for one year on a school-issued device. The insurance cost is $29.95, which may be significantly less than repair or replacement costs without insurance.

Replacement costs (up to $308) for damaged or lost devices can be found in the PWCS Parent/Student Digital Device Handbook.

Insurance must be purchased within 30 days of your student receiving their device (and before any failure, damage or loss occurs to the device).
