School counselors at Ronald Wilson Reagan Middle School believe:

  • All students are deserving of complete access to the school counseling program to make a difference in improving their academic, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Counselors are committed to advocate for each student as well as to assist students in developing skills to advocate for themselves.
  • Reagan Middle School counseling program should be developmental and preventative in nature, striving to incorporate research-based ideas, strategies and techniques driven by data.
  • The American School Counselor Association ethical standards will empower Reagan Middle School counselors to make decisions based on the highest moral principles to promote student lifelong learning and success.

It is the vision of the Ronald Reagan Middle School counseling department that every student will graduate on time with the knowledge, skills and habits of mind necessary to create a thriving future for themselves and their community. While celebrating their diversity as a strength, students will demonstrate a responsibility for their physical and mental well-being as digital citizens, and the ability to be resilient individuals in the face of adversity by being innovators and coping with change and challenges.

The mission of the Ronald Reagan Middle School counseling department is to provide every student access to a developmentally appropriate and comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student academic, career and social emotional outcomes. Through the development of relationships and collaboration with students, parents, teachers and community members, our program will foster healthy habits of mind, resiliency, critical thinking and accountability in our students. We will adapt by utilizing a data driven approach to ensure equity and to prepare our students to be successful global collaborators.
