What is Dungeons & Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a role-playing game in which 4-6 players, led by a Dungeon Master (DM), act as adventurers who are presented with a task to complete, e.g., rescue someone or find a lost treasure. D&D encourages critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, and teamwork. It is the player's job to think of ways to meet their objective that also align with their character's goals. Players use dice to determine the outcome of decisions and combat.
