Team Record:  1-1-1

Game Summaries:

10/2/24 Home v. Unity Braxton Jaguars: RMS 30-UBMS 0

Congratulations to the Reagan Mustangs Football Team for their 30-0 victory Wednesday night at home against Unity Braxton. The cheerleaders also rocked it and did a great job. Thank you to all the students, teachers, family and friends that came out for the game. The Mustangs were led on Defense by Colin Winterstine who blocked a punt, and by Brayden Coulbourne who recovered a fumble. Isaac Mormon also made several key tackles at linebacker. On the offensive side of the ball, the Mustangs got touchdowns from Kai Torco, Zach Munn and Mason Saldana. The ‘Stangs improve to 1-1-1 on the season. Next week, we host Bull Run on Thursday Oct 10. This is a special game that will be played under the lights on turf at Battlefield High School, with a kickoff time of 7 PM. This is also “Senior” Night, where we will honor our 8th graders. Go Mustangs!

9/25/24 Away v. Metz Mustangs: RMS 0-MMS 19

The Mustangs had a tough one last night, falling on the road to the defending league champions, 19-0. The game against Metz was played in the rain on the blue turf of Osbourne High. Our Defense was strong and allowed only 1 score, on a 4th and long busted play. Unfortunately the opponent also scored on a Special Teams score and a Defensive score. Levi Kouts, Kai Torco, Besher Al Samman and Jack Michaelis played tough and led the Mustangs. Thoughts and prayers to Cooper Thompson, a starting 2-way player, who was injured during the game. We are back to work today and look forward to hosting Unity Braxton next week, in a home game on Wednesday, Oct 2. We hope to have all of Mustang Nation out for that one to cheer on the home team.

9/18/24 Home v. Gainesville Hawks: RMS 6-GMS 6

The Mustangs Football team want to thank all those that came out in the rain to cheer on the squad last night. In our first game of the season, we had approximately 400 people and lines backing up to the parking lot, for a huge crowd. The cheerleaders were awesome and the music, food and crowd made for a fantastic environment. In the game, the Mustangs tied a top-2 team from last season, finishing 6 to 6, vs. the Hawks from Gainesville. Blake Lesson was terrific on Offense. On Defense, Levi Koutz, Cooper Thompson and Tre Cage had several great plays. The play of the game came from Kai Torco, who had a “Fumble Six” , stealing the ball from the Hawk ball-carrier and returning it 85 yards up the sidelines for a Touchdown. In 5th Quarter play, Johnnie Maynard had a nice touchdown pass to DJ Fenner. Great job by everyone.
