Tryout Information - 2026
Please review the points below to help answer questions about the tryout process!
- Tryout Dates Monday, August 31-Wednesday September 2nd
- Immediately after school (3:05) until 5pm.
- Athletes should plan on staying for all three days for full consideration.
- Athletes should show up each day to tryouts with a t-shirt, gym shorts/spandex, tennis/court shoes, and water.
- Athletes must have their own ride home from tryouts - there will be no activity buses!
- PWCS will be using Arbiter again this year. Please follow these directions for uploading your physical.
- Athletes may register for tryouts ahead of time. This is not a requirement. You may still simply show up on Monday as long as you have concussion and physical requirements met. Registering ahead of time will help decrease the time spent with administrative duties on the first day.
- We expect at least 70+ athletes to show for tryouts for 24 total spots
- The top 10 athletes, regardless of grade, will be selected for Varsity. Yes, 6th and 7th graders can make varsity.
- The next 10 athletes in 6th and 7th graders will be selected for Junior Varsity. 8th Graders may not play on junior varsity.
- Up to 4 players (to get to 24 total) will be offered the role of practice player. These athletes will have the opportunity to play during practice and they are welcome to stay with the team for home games. They will not travel with the team and they will not play in any matches.
- Several variables influence the selection process, including volleyball skill, game IQ, coachability, how one interacts with peers and adults, and overall attitude. Playing travel or club does not guarantee you a spot on the team - see above.
- Use the links below to help learn our potential offense as well as player responsibilities while on the court.
