QUICK OVERVIEW OF EXPECTATIONS, RULES, PROCEDURES

While cheerleading is a sport, it is also a strong group of students that can promote school spirit, build a positive school community, be leaders/ambassadors inside and outside of school and can work with teachers, staff, and the school family to help create a strong sense of school pride while building strong character traits. Our goal is to keep building upon that every year.

RRMS Cheerleaders cheer for football and basketball (boys and girls). You are expected to be at ALL practices. Missing practice affects the entire team. Stunt groups are unable to practice and timing and spacing are off during routine learning.

Eligibility: You must not receive 2 or more “F”s in a given quarter. You must have zero behavior issues or write ups from teachers or RRMS staff. You must be a student in good standing.

Rules: You will be expected to follow RRMS/PWCS Code of Conduct, PWCS Athletic Rules and Cheer Team expectations. Cheer Team expectations will be handed out after tryouts.

Practices: Practices will most likely be held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3:15-5:00. (Final practice schedule will be available on the first day of tryouts) Thursday practices may be added to the schedule when there is no school on a practice day. We understand some may need to catch the activity bus. We will work our schedule to get activity bus riders to the bus in time.

PLEASE NOTE: extra practices can and may be added.

Games: Cheerleaders cheer at home games for football season and basketball season (boys and girls). We will cheer September to mid-March.

Pick up on Time: Parents are responsible for picking up their cheerleaders in a timely manner. If you will be late, please email the coach or text/call your child, arrange for a carpool or a new pick up. This includes after game pick-ups.

Practice Wear: Parents will be expected to purchase practice wear through the online spirit store. Once the squad is named the store will be up and running. There are also items that you will need to purchase on your own like, cheer shoes, leggings, socks, and shorts.

Cheer Fee: Parents will be expected to pay a RRMS cheer fee for uniform undergarments, bows and other items needed for the season. The cost is still being determined. The fee will be around $200-250 per cheerleader. These items are your cheerleaders’ items to keep.

Fundraisers: We will participate in fundraisers throughout the season to help raise money for Reagan Cheer. Parents are expected to participate in fundraisers. If we do concession stands at games, an adult representative for each cheerleader will need to work a concession time. Concession info will come after tryouts.

Line of communication: Your first line of communication for cheerleading or issues involving cheer are the coaches. Parents and/or Cheerleaders are expected to contact the coaches first.

*Please note: As with any sport, cheerleading is a time commitment. It may also be a financial commitment. Please be advised you will be expected to purchase items for practice, games and/or competition. *
