National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) was established by the NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) in 1929 to recognize outstanding middle level students.
The Ronald Reagan Middle School Chapter of NJHS gives eighth-grade students an opportunity to serve their school and the surrounding community. To be eligible for candidacy in NJHS, current 7th grade students should have the equivalent of a 3.0 GPA.
NJHS Candidates are students who not only have good grades but are also self-motivated and ready to be involved in school and community activities, and consistently demonstrate responsibility, kindness, and respect to their teachers and fellow students.
2026-27 School Year Candidate Requirements:
If a student fails to maintain these expectations, he/she may no longer be eligible for induction into the Reagan Middle School NJHS chapter at the end of their 8th grade year.
The NJHS fee covers the national chapter dues, expenses for our chapter events and projects, and the end of year induction ceremony. The application & fee can be completed online through the Student QuickPay system.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR SEPTEMBER 30, 2026
From NJHS Candidate to Inducted Member of NJHS
NJHS candidates who fulfill their responsibilities will be officially inducted into the National Junior Honor Society in the spring of their 8th grade school year. The spring induction date allows the RRMS Faculty Council time to verify completion of each candidate’s service hour requirements and review academic and disciplinary records.
8th grade students who are new to RRMS may transfer their membership from a previous school by providing official documentation of their NJHS membership to Reagan's Chapter Advisor.
Ms. Schilling is the advisor for NJHS and can be contacted at [email protected] .
