Here are our updates for the week.
Unified Kickball Tournament on Friday
The tournament was postponed due to the weather. We will host this event this Friday, October 4 at 10:30am. If you would like to attend, please bring your ID, check in at the main office, and then head to the baseball field to cheer on our student-athletes!
October PTSO Meeting
PTSO has a meeting this week on Wednesday, October 2. The meeting will be held at 7:00 pm in the library. (Please note the later time due to the football game being played that night). This week we will be voting on the Secretary position. We have currently gotten confirmation from three nominees:

• Denise Tuttle
• Nikki Ha

Virtual Breakfast with Beemer
Join us on Friday, October 4th at 10:00am for a VIRTUAL breakfast with Mr. Beemer. These virtual meetings are a great opportunity to hear about new initiatives, ask questions, and connect with our school community. We will
spend intentional time discussing the school culture and climate approach for the year. We will also be bringing you Canvas “pro tips” and some exciting updates from our Fall clubs and programs. RSVP and submit questions for Mr. Beemer here. Click here on Friday to join (“RRMS” is passcode).
8th Grade Field Trip
On October 10 we will take our 8th grade students to Washington DC to tour a few museums and participate in modified version of The Amazing Race. Students received an email asking for their shirt size and other important information in Language Arts on Friday. Please check with your child to make sure they completed the requested information. 8th Grade Academic Success Skills and High School Planning Session
The Ronald Reagan Middle School Counseling Department is inviting you to an "8th Grade Academic Success Skills and High School Planning" parent information event that will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Reagan Middle School. We are sending this invitation to both 7th and 8th grade families. Please check your email for the communication from our Director of Counseling, Mrs. Covell-Sharek.
Watchdog Program
Beginning next week, we are starting up our Watchdog program again! This program helps provide positive male role models for the students in our school and encourages students to always do their best. If you'd like to volunteer to spend a few hours at Reagan helping out in the hallways and cafeteria, please sign up here. Questions? Please reach out to our parent liaison, Mrs. Klein.
Front Office Reminders
To report an absence: Please submit any absences on the day of the absence or up to 30 days in the future using the Report Absence button in ParentVUE. If the absence has already passed, please email our attendance mailbox at [email protected]. Please include your student's full name, the date(s) of the absence, and the reason for the absence. We cannot accept attendance over the phone.
For late arrivals: You do not need to come into the building when dropping off your student. We will have them sign in and then we will update their attendance and send them to class with a pass.
For early dismissal: You must come into the building to pick up your student. Please have a picture ID available and check your student out using our iPads. We CANNOT check students out between 2:30 PM and our regular dismissal time at 3:00 PM. Please plan to be here no later than 2:30 PM.
To drop off items/lunches at school: Please let your student know that the item has been dropped off by sending them an email. They do not have phone access during the day, but they can check email. The front office cannot always notify students that they have items or lunches in the front office in a timely manner.
After-School Tutoring
Our after-school tutoring program will be back this year and better than ever! After-school tutoring runs every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00-4:45pm (beginning this Tuesday, August 27th). Activity busses are available for those in need of transportation. Students must sign up in advance through the Student Commons

This Week in Advisory
- Monday's house compettition is a distance challenge! Students will need to take a deep breath to be victorious in this competition. You must be present in advisory to win and earn house points!
- Wednesday's advisory lesson will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! We are proud to have almost 200 Hispanic students and families in our Reagan community
- Friday is Drop Everything And Read - please remind your student to bring a book with them.

The PTSO Board is looking for someone to fill the Secretary position. We do have one nominee already, but if anyone else is interested and would like to be considered, please let us know by emailing [email protected] We will be voting for this position at our next meeting on October 4.
